2. “Just what I was hoping for.“
"These boots really met my expectation which can get built up while waiting for delivery of hand made boots. Trust the JK sizing instructions. These run long and make sure you get the right width which is slightly different with E being standard. I spent some extra time working through it and ended up with a 8.5EE instead of a 9E which would have been too long and narrow. They fit great and look even better. Picture is right after the first oil so they are a little darker than typical."

"I am a Hotshot for USFS , and have sent in other boots for rebuild and resole, I found the Quality to be second to none. As I was using a pair of Fire Inlanders right out of the box on the Montana mountain tops, I was hooked, I put JK boots through the Fire and they are still ready for the Hike back down. I have recently purchased a custom superduty boot. I ordered from coming in to the Arizona store, I was able to pick every detail and adjust my size to accommodate my variances. (Awesome Experience and Customer Service). The boots came and hit the ground running, the other night I took my boots off and still no issues, day 9 and I’m breaking in the boots as I write this review. Truly Fit my feet exactly, an will be ready for the 2024 wildfire season. So to answer the Question, What do Hotshots wear on the Fireline? Well, as the 2023 Mt Taylor Hotshot of the Year, I Wear JK Boots!"

"I ordered these as my first pair of JK's. I have worn high-end Red Wings for many years, as I was a police officer. I have a great pair of White's. While I like my other "nice" boots...I LOVE my JK's! The build quality is first class, as one would expect with an expensive handcrafted boot. But the fit straight out of the box was unbelievable! I never imagined such a great fit was possible. There is a break-in period, and I have had some minor blisters, but nothing painful or crazy. If you are interested in buying the best pair of American made hand crafted boots...this is it!"

5. “Comfort Right Out of the Box“
"I was very surprised at how comfortable the boots were right out of the box. Not to say that they don't need breaking in, but the fit was superb . The fit guide, for me, was spot on. I was of course concerned about ordering boots that I had never tried on, but I couldn't ask for a better fit.
Oiling with the provided Obenauf's does darken the Redwood roughout, but they are still very a very nice looking boot. Keep up the great quality!"

7. “After a year of use“
"I'm a rural garbage truck driver, some walking, lots of heavy lifting, wear these boots sixty hours a week at work, and they're my first choice for any day when I know I'll be on my feet all day. Break in took about a week and a half following JKs instructions and using one of the alternate lace patterns. I stuck with that lacing pattern as it's more comfortable with driving. These boots hold up great, they're so comfortable that after a sixteen hour day I almost wore them into the shower because I forgot they were on. Just a heads up, remember to oil the laces or they dry out and break."

8 “Best boots I’ve ever worn“
"I’ve been notoriously hard on boots my entire life. I’m constantly in mud, manure, gravel, asphalt and concrete. Between my day job in the water industry to my side gig as a farmer, no off the shelf boots have held up to the abuse. Until I started wearing JKs. Some days I’m in my boots from 6am to midnight and not once have my back or feet hurt. The investment is well worth it. My knees bend backwards at rest so the higher heel really helps mitigate the overextension. Do yourself a favor and get you some JKs!"
