JK Boots vs Other Work Boots: What Reviews Say

Choosing the right pair of work boots can be a challenge especially since there are so many different brands to choose from. How do JK Boots stand out from other brands of work boots? Let's take a look at a few reviews to see how they compare.

1. “Comfortable“

"I own at least one boot from the 4 main PNW brands out of Spokane. In terms of comfort especially right out of the box, these super duty boots surpassed expectations. Compared to the other companies, JK builds boots on lasts that come with a variety of wider fits. I bought these accidentally as extra-wide and did not realize that would mean an equivalent of 5E in width. I imagined extra wide to mean 2E or F which is my normal width. To my surprise and satisfaction, I discovered I've likely been wearing too tight of boots and thought the long break in period was normal. All in all, the fit obviously felt good and the soft honey sole complimented it too."

2. “Absolutely Stunning“

"My 2nd pair of JK's, and this time I went with these. When I got these boots today (takes a few months) I literally got them out of the box, and just sat there and looked at them. I am amazed at the workmanship, and the way they just are built to last. I was VERY skeptical at first. I have always been a "Danner guy." Danner makes a good boot, but NOTHING compared to these. I tried them on, and I was blown away. I am extremely happy, and I know you will be as well!"

3. “17 year old in JK'S“

"This is my first pair of PNW boots but my fifth boot in my short time in this world. But compared to my last boots redwing heritage lines ex iron rangers and classic moc toe, I am in love. I would constantly be trying different soles in those boot to help with my tremendous foot pain becasue of my high arch. But as soon as I got in these I knew I would never want to take them off. They are also the most durable things I have ever had on my feet taking me on countless adventures already. And not to mention they are handsome."

4. “Perfect fit and finish, amazing break in.“

"Lightweight yes, nimble yes, all things. Worth the JK hype the other reviews do not lie.
Used the online size guide, couldn’t be happier. I worked a 12 hour day the second wear, no dramas.
Arch support is the happy medium, for my medium high arches. Compared to the 55 and HNW in another brand."

5. “Superior to name brand work boots“

"Leather quality, stitching and fit were unparalleled. For comparison, my thorogoods had different leather used on left boot compared to right and had a small amount of heel slip. Thanks JK."

6. “Best boot I’ve ever owned!“

"I have OT brown with honey soles. I work in construction. I’m in various environments from new construction both residential and commercial, to finished homes that are updating. I also go out in the mountains to cut firewood, hike, etc.
I love how these fit! I went to one of JK’s dealers and got sized, I really recommend this if you can. I was surprised how short the break in was, 2-3 weeks. This boot is a great balance of stability and flexibility. I’m up and down a lot for work. The honey sole and specific construction of the OT allow flexibility in the toe but don’t pinch. They still manage to be quite supportive however. I’m certain these boots have prevented a few ankle rolls on un even terrain. The quality is top notch! I’ve been wearing them almost every day, at least 12 hours a day, for months now. They show hardly any signs of wear, just well broke in. I could feel them form to my feet over the first weeks. Now, they fit like a figurative foot glove. This is a great boot for work, recreation, or to just plane wear everyday. I’ve worn many other brands of hiking style boots, Lowa, Merrel, Oboz, Asolo, and some would be showing signs of failure by now or at least that they were half way through their life… Not these. No tears, no seams coming apart, soles still have plenty of tread, stitching still intact, they obviously have years left in them. Comparatively, I could only get 12-18 months out of the aforementioned brands. They are a worthy investment!
The only thing I would change is that I wish I had gotten full smooth. The reason being is the material I work with creates a very fine dust. It gets in the rough out and is hard to get out. I blow off my boots at the end of the day frequently, and brush them off before oiling. But I can’t get it all out of the fibers. So if you work with fine dusty stuff, consider full smooth.
I was hesitant to spend this kind of money as I never had before. I read reviews, watched youtube, compared brands and models. I have no regrets. I should have bought these a lot sooner!
I plan on purchasing another JK boot soon.
Thank you JK for an outstanding product!"

7. “Best I've experienced!“

"I have been trying high end boots now for a couple of months now. I have a pair of White's, Nick's, and Grant Stone for more casual non-work occasions. All have great craftsmanship. But for me (size 13 EE or wide) the JK boot just feels best. Firstly more arch support. Second, the foot just seems to cradle into the footbed if that makes sense. No break in whatsoever (got the right size). The bison is luxurious and ridiculously soft. Best leather quality as compared to others. I wear these boots at work on concrete. I have experienced no foot fatigue AT ALL - even wear them after I get home around the house. This is a versatile, beautiful, comfortable artisan quality product. Highest recommendation."

8. “Worth A Five Star“

"My Kid said they were the best work boot he's had compared to his previous ******, Frank's, and Nick's. All I can say is they fit perfectly, they break in fast, and they are extremely comfortable. The first pair I ordered were the forefronts in two tone buffalo leather. Wow, they are worth a five star. We farm so the boots are on concrete, dirt, gravel, and all over machinery. They seem to perform well. In fact, I like them so much I had to get a second Forefront pair (factory seconds). Only two problems exist. The first problem is which pair to wear. The second problem is now I want to get a third pair ( two tone in the Harvester)."

9. “A comfortable take on PNW boots“

"I have a pair of Nick's Ranger 55s and wanted something a little softer underfoot, but with the same build quality. Found out about JK boots and their OT line through Carl Murawski and Rose Anvil, and wanted to give them a shot. I was traveling in the Spokane area so I was able to work with Corey Morris to figure out my size and get an order placed. He was fantastic to work with, and I'd highly recommend stopping by their store.

The pair that showed up ended up being a bit small (8.5E) so I exchanged them, and eventually landed on a 9E + an insole (I wear a 9.5D in Nick's). Shannon was a huge help expediting the exchange and getting me the new pair just in time for a work trip.

Compared to my Nick's, I'd say the build quality is just as good if not better. Sizing wise, it was a bit more finicky to get my size right in the JKs, and I still prefer the fit of my Nick's, especially in the shaft of the upper and instep, but the fit of the JK's is still quite good.

Where the JK's really shine though is comfort. Break-in was pretty quick and I've worn them for 80 hour work weeks with no issues. They're way less fatiguing than my Nick's for long days.

Overall, I'd definitely recommend these if you're looking for a more comfortable PNW boot, and you don't need the all out durability of something like the Superduty line."

10. “Best Boots I Have Ever Worn!“

"I served the Army 20+ years ago including an 18 month tour in the sandbox. I have broken in and worn a lot of boots. These have been a pleasure to wear from the first time I placed my feet into them.
The measurements were spot on and fit exactly to my feet. They have very little break in time if any compared to any other boot. Walking in them with and without a 50 lb ruck is extremely easy and comfortable. Climbing hills has been a great new experience with these. They have great grip and support. I walk everywhere in these and my walks have immensely improved. My speed has increased because of these boots. Absolutely no blisters have been caused by them. Over all my experience from these has been by far the best boots I have ever worn."
