"Have had Nick’s and White’s boots, these are the pick for me. Excellent fit and solid feel, while the bison leather’s softness makes them pretty comfortable from the start. Very solid footbed feels like it will take some time to mold to my foot (had them 3 weeks, probably worn for about 60-70 hours so far). No issues, quality of stitching and lasting is all excellent. I would order smooth/smooth outer leather next time…the rough-out is pretty furry so you look a bit like a bear mascot, but with some abuse and oil/wax they’ll be fine. Highly recommended if you like a very solid boot with good arch. "

"One of, if not the best pair of boots money can buy . These guys are really masters of their craft and it shows in the end product. Their craftsmanship ship is second to none. Ordered a custom pair of OT’s in Bison with rough out on the bottom and it was well worth the wait. Got a belt for Christmas recently to match. Nicest boots and belt I’ve ever owned. If you’re on the fence about any of their products go ahead and give em a try you won’t be disappointed. They will answer all of your questions and are obviously very knowledgeable about their product and boots in general. Their customer service was top notch which is hard to find anywhere these days. "I cannot say enough good things about this boot! Absolutely phenomenal creation by JK!! They have made history by the introduction of their Bison line. The leather is super tough yet very malleable. What this means is exceptional comfort from day one and very soft break in process. Hands down they are the most comfortable pair in my collection, a little too comfortable sometimes with that mushy Honey Vibram sole. I love wearing them and they are my go to whenever my feet are tired of hard soles or stiff leather. They look super cool and interesting and get lots of compliments. "I just LOVE JK boots. The customer service, the buying experience, and the boots themselves are all top shelf! I have been a fan of PNW boots for a while now. And recently, I've been able to expand my collection. I have boots from JK, *****, Franks, and ******. I love them all for their own reasons, and I feel each brand (and each boot) has it's own personality and benefits.
Yesterday, I received another pair (my third!) of JKs...the Superduty in Bison.
These have to be the most comfortable PNW boots I've ever worn. Disarmingly comfortable. This is my first pair of bison leather, and they are a revelation. They are so soft, pliable, and flexible. From the first time I slipped in my feet, they feel like they've been broken in for ages. They feel noticeably lighter and more nimble than my other PNW boots...to the point where I almost felt like I was missing out on the "PNW boot experience." Not that it's a bad thing, but rather a thoroughly new experience. I'm glad I'm familiar with the reputation of bison leather because it's hard to reconcile the difference in feel between it and the traditional 8-9 oz leather.
At first I wasn't going to order a pair as I really didn't need another pair of boots, but curiosity got the best of me. And, wow, I'm so glad I pulled the trigger!
These are an EASY recommendation. But I have thoughts on that. On the one hand, I would definitely recommend them for anyone who already owns PNW boots. They are a delightful change up to the experience we all know and love. And for people who are new to PNW boots, I would say they are an excellent gateway and transition into this marvelous world. The only caveat I would offer is that if a new adopter is looking for that hardcore "PNW experience" (heavy, full-bodied, bomb-proof feeling with a break in that has rewards similar to emerging victorious from the Mines of Moria), then this may be a great second pair. Because as we all know, once you get that first pair of PNW boots, the potato chip effect kicks in...you can't have just one.
